The renovation at LCS continues on schedule. Much of the primary wing is under construction.
Kindergartners and first graders will move back into their classrooms on January 24. At present, the first grade is in one of the new 3-4 classrooms (the 3-4 classes have doubled up in one room for three weeks) and the kindergarten is in the mostly renovated library (minus the books!).
The technology lab is being relocated to a room in the primary hallway and office/work spaces for special education, speech-language, Reading Recovery, and counseling are being carved out of an existing room.
By February break, the bulk of the interior construction will be completed. Work continues on the exterior as weather permits—and so far we’ve been quite fortunate. Site work will be completed in the spring after the ground dries out. Feel free to stop by for a look!
