Lincoln students hold appreciation day for construction workers
LINCOLN COMMUNITY SCHOOL
Third- and fourth-graders showed their gratitude to the construction workers who built their new classrooms by making and dishing up a delicious free lunch on Friday, Jan. 13. Teacher Mikaela Frank said the kids did all the prep work themselves — including assembling lasagna and making cookie dough. All the adults did was buy the ingredients.
Editor’s note: As a sign of the gratitude, third- and fourth-graders at Lincoln Community School on Jan. 13 prepared and served lunch to construction workers who have been completing renovations and expansions to their school. Three fourth-graders wrote this note of appreciation to the Lincoln community.
Dear Community,
We, the students at the Lincoln Community School, feel very fortunate and
grateful. This past spring our town passed a bond vote for renovations to our school. Since the beginning of the school
year Neagley and Chase, Black River Design, Norway and Sons and many other companies have been working on our school.
We would like to share our gratitude to the workers who have been spending months working on the building. We have two new classrooms already and they are still is safer. We have lots of new windows in our school and a new bathroom! All these changes make it much easier to learn. We have more natural sunlight!
We are very grateful to a supportive community. We know that you care about our education. Thank you.
