WEATHERIZATION

Energy Home

Button Up Vermont
A video on ways you can weatherize your home all by yourself and get maximum bang for the buck.

Limited free technical assistance
Our committee can provide on-site assistance in assessing the critical energy-related needs of your home. Our volunteers include former professional energy specialists. We will help you zero in quickly on the most important opportunities, and connect you with the appropriate resources to make your home more efficient, comfortable, and safe.

Town Office Efficiency Work
We recently took a look at the town office for energy opportunities and found three good ones. The Selectboard has accepted our offer to address these:

Complete some unfinished insulation beneath the radiant heat system.
Retrofit the lighting with vastly more efficient equipment.
Help us with this project. We will schedule a couple hours of work on the insulation some Saturday soon. Contact Stephen Taylor at 453-3225 or lincolnenergy@gmail.com

Another big opportunity (and problem) pertains to the lack of an air barrier in the ceiling. For now, the Selectboard has deferred action on this issue pending long term planning for the town office.

Vermont Community Energy Mobilization Project (VCEM)
Thanks again to collaboration with Efficiency Vermont, specially trained volunteers from the Lincoln Energy Committee will provide free home energy visits that include…
Installation of free energy saving products, including compact fluorescent light bulbs, water efficiency materials, and, if applicable, programmable thermostats.
A review of your home fuel use to determine if your home is a good candidate for additional energy efficiency improvements. Information about incentives and financing opportunities to increase the efficiency of your home. Guidance documents, technical training, and energy-saving measures and materials will be provided at no cost to local organizers.
